CHAPTER BY CHAPTER

My name is Amanda Morelli and I am a current grade 12 student at St. Augustine CHS, planning on graduating in June 2019. I have focused my high school education thus far in science and technology. As a result, I have also attended DEEP (Da Vinci Engineering Enrichment Program) Summer Academy at the University of Toronto where I took courses in Gene Therapy and Genetic Techniques, Orbital Mechanics, and Engineering the Future of Surgery.

I am also a former high school research intern at Sunnybrook Research Institute’s Focused Ultrasound Lab, as well as the project manager of my school's App Development Team, President of my school's HOSA chapter, and student leader of my school's science club. As a research intern, I worked in a medical device development team to receive approvals from the FDA and Health Canada. Also, I am managing the team that is currently developing an app for our school. I love learning new things, especially in topics of science, technology, engineering, and more specifically, chemistry. Last year, I wrote the University of Waterloo Avogadro Chemistry Exam and placed within the top 7% of students in the world, and within the top 5% of students in North America. After high school, I aspire to pursue studies within the field of biomedical and materials engineering.
